When we truly grasp what’s in the realm of our control, we can work on cutting through the noise that interferes with our true growth. External events, experiences, and even people are NOT under our control – where we do have impact for change (control), is our own emotions, attitudes and behaviors. Although not always easy, together we can create a more healthy belief system which embodies the concept that it’s not what happens to us that matters as much as the meaning we make of it.
Meditation and mindfulness practices in general, are extremely powerful tools in accessing awareness around our mindsets and creating long-lasting, positive changes. They are significant pathways to changing our default operating systems and why they play a major role in my coaching practice.
